IEC Florida First Coast is the Independent Electrical Contractors chapter for merit-shop electrical contractors across Duval, Nassau, Clay, Baker, Putnam, Bradford, St. Johns and Flagler counties, and it runs the four-year apprenticeship program that goes with it.

IEC Florida First Coast Chapter
Independent Electrical Contractors Florida First Coast is a not-for-profit chapter association, chartered in 2026, serving merit-shop electrical contractors across Duval, Nassau, Clay, Baker, Putnam, Bradford, St. Johns and Flagler counties.
Every electrical contractor in Northeast Florida is fighting the same two problems: not enough licensed hands, and no local pipeline producing more of them. Companies here train apprentices one at a time, in-house, with no shared curriculum and no classroom to send them to. The chapter is the fix contractors build together. We run the school so no single shop has to.
- Train – run a nationally recognised electrical apprenticeship on the First Coast
- Certify – keep licences current with code update and safety training, held locally
- Connect – put contractors, distributors and manufacturers in one room monthly, not annually
- Represent – speak for independent contractors on licensing, permitting and workforce policy
The chapter was chartered on July 1, 2026. Its first officers are seated, its first apprentices are in class, and it is enrolling contractor and industry-partner members now.
